"I get Lost in the Magic of Storytelling"

WELCOME

I want to bring you on a journey. It starts with my most ambitious project to date. I have written my memoirs and as some have already stated, "quite in-depth," I might add.

What is the rationale behind Perpetual Motion?

Simply this. . .

We as humans, are the only species who have the ability to pen our stories and, unfortunately, most of us don't.

The historical human record is only known because our ancestors took the time to physically make note of the events of a given day. This was done at the dawn of civilization by the etching of memorable scenes on a rock face, possibly in a cave used as a dwelling.

Imagine if that never happened?

It is no different today. Yes, we have much superior technology than the caveman did eons ago, but all the tech in the world won't record your personal story, unless you do it yourself, or of course, have someone do it for you after you have passed from this world.

Why take that chance?

My decision to write my biography stems from the fact that I have five grandchildren and I want them to know who their "Papa" is and why our bloodline exists. In this way, they get to hear it from the horse's mouth, the highs and the lows, the wins and the losses. . .all the juicy details.

Just imagine if everyone did that!

The stories I tell, create a legacy of who I am.

And that, my friends, is one for the history books!

And now..... as to the reason for creating this website in the first place. I have several hundred images which correspond to the many incidents and general stories I have penned in my up-coming biography.  Some of them are gallery worthy, and some are presented for memorial context only, blurry, faded and old. I have broken the gallery images out into more manageable lots so you can better find a pic that corresponds with a particular story. Hope you are finding these images helpful in assisting with my penned narrative!

Dana Pitts was born in Nova Scotia and grew up in Sarnia, Ontario where he spent the majority of his life. A graduate of St. Patrick’s High School and the Ontario Fire College, he has had a successful thirty-five-year career in the Ontario Fire Service. Rising through the ranks, he was eventually awarded his CFO (Chief Fire Officer) designation from the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs, finally to retire as Deputy Chief at Sarnia Fire Rescue.

Dana is a first-time author but a lifelong storyteller having been instilled with a passion for the written word from a very early age by his mother, Helen—a Grammar School teacher in her youth. He is also passionate about photography, travel, and gourmet cooking (and was the co-owner of the Small Batch Cafe restaurant in the city of Kingston, Ontario for several years).

Dana has two grown children and five grandchildren, and currently resides in Milford, Nova Scotia.
