It's been a minute!
Hope everyone is doing fine. A quick note to catch you up to date on life.
Many changes have happened since my last post, the biggest being that I have moved back to Ontario from Nova Scotia. This happened in May of this year, and it has been the best decision I've made since publishing my book!
I now reside in Welland, Ontario, outside Niagara Falls. I am five minutes down the road from my daughter and family, and that makes me very happy!
Some might wonder why the move?
If you've read my book (and I sure hope by now, you have!) you will know how much my family and grandchildren mean to me. It was time to change things up and make my life a little easier by getting back to their orbit. Since arriving back to the province in late spring, I've taken the time to get myself established in the Niagara region. (Can you say "Wine Country?")
I have also spent lots of quality time with both my children and my five grands, so no regrets at all.
This old guy is not getting any younger. By eliminating the eighteen hour road trip from the east coast to Ontario and back, each year, I feel like I've added years to my life!
And speaking of the book, I want to thank the hundreds of you who have already read my musings. I have heard from a good many of you through email, text and phone calls, letting me know how you enjoyed the read, and am truly humbled by your comments. Even after almost two years, I still receive a shout out from those of you who are just now finding the time to sit with my works and discovering what it's all about. Bless each and every one of you.
Which brings me to this.
Websites are freakin' expensive to maintain! This site that you are visiting now, has served its purpose in allowing me to present many visuals to go with my written words. Again, the comments have been so awesome! But, as I move on from this chapter in my life, I don't feel the need to spend the resources to maintain this version of my website. That is not to say there won't be a new version of my on-line presence in the future. After-all, I am still creating my visual art through my photography every day. As a matter of fact, I am currently taking courses to learn some great new techniques that I will be applying to my visuals in the future. You are never too old to learn!
So, as of November 30th 2025, this site will be de-commissioned. It has served me well, and I've learned a lot from this exercise.
Again, thank you for tagging along. I still have my FB and Instagram accounts open so feel free to follow along over there.
Cheers!
Dana
